This talk is absolutely tremendous. AI, cellular automata, how to define intelligence, how life emerges from building blocks, symbiogenesis… Incredible. overcast.fm/+AAhjRoBRgM0

It's pretty cool that Ink & Switch is contributing to this big ARIA programme now. We get two big things out of it: funding (obviously) but also a community of fascinating creators and problems to connect with. I'm learning all about the UK power grid this week.

Likely result? Maybe something like... bubble, short winter, then Perez thesis takes over... Compute overcapacity after crash acts as new low-cost input, enter synergy phase, and AI *really* starts to take off. Supercycle probably on the order of 5yrs?

I personally see collapse as an inevitability for every individual institution. Nothing lasts forever. The smart way to build systems is to enable reforms so that they can adjust to reality without destroying what works in the process.

This is pretty baked into the philosophy of Bluesky

What if a browser could navigate #ATProto DIDs and 🦋 Bluesky handles?

Made a little prototype of Aura, a browser that can navigate between standard websites (🌐), Bluesky handles (@), and permanent DIDs, resolving them all in the same address bar.

How you decentralize:

Make popular products that get adoption.

Have an open system that anyone can build on.

Make more dev education & tooling to make product building easier.

Have grants & funding to build.

Increase the willingness of users to support products with $
