Ms Acland-Hood is asked about the long term impact on attendance resulting from the pandemic. She says there has been a damage done to the social contract and also that more parents think missing a day of school doesn't matter.

Keeping children, young people and their educators safe at school was an obstacle that should have been taken seriously - and still needs addressing. Clean air - Ventilation, Monitoring and Filtration all still needed along with guidance on when and how to use each. #CovidInquiry #LongCovidKids

Listening to Gavin Williamson giving evidence, a couple of things stand out

He clearly isn’t very bright & shouldn’t have been anywhere near ministerial level

He avoided making decisions & blames everyone else for any failings, even though he was the Secretary of State and in charge

I was posting in an expectation of schools closing at beginning of March

Gavin clearly wasn’t up to the job and children suffered as a direct result

I agree with you on the vast majority of things

But I urge caution on claims about FSM

Expanding to UC is unquestionably a great move, but there is a spectre of also ending Transitional Protections and few understand the impact that will have on schools and communities

Sending some universities to the wall based on spurious assumptions about teaching quality, which are based on spurious data about graduate employment rates and salaries, would certainly be a novel approach to managing the HE system.

A big concern going forward is the interfighting amongst Palestinians as the idf withdrawal leaves a security vacuum

There are a number of clans, including Israeli funded groups, who will be acting provocatively
