Wonderful to wake up to the news that Takeshita is the new NJPW IWGP Heavyweight Champion! I bet that match against ZSJ was awesome.

He'll be a great steward of that title.

As a side note, I can't wait for the development of Takeshita & Okada in AEW with him being the one to carry that torch now.

I have a simple rule for the NJPW title.

Would I think their name coming up in the pantheon of title holders video would be embarrassing or weird 20 years from now.

I would be proud seeing Takeshita’s name, and think he made sense in the pantheon of Champions.

My actions had nothing to do with the "show" and everything to do with the safety of others. You can debate the tackle. I'm just glad we're not dealing with the alternative headlines that read unhinged AEW talent seriously injured Jacksonville fans. Numerous lawsuits are filed.
