The sun is perfect and you woke this morning.
You have enough language in your mouth to be understood.
You have a name, and someone wants to call it. Five fingers on your hand and someone wants to hold it.
I go for an early morning run as the first light of the sunrise greets me.

Discussion point from the panel discussion at #BALR2025:
• about 60% of people in the room work in pulmonary fibrosis, why?
• do we have good models and which disease has the best models and why?
• how do we improve sharing or tissue and resources?

I don’t think anyone is naive enough to think Uni of Nottingham would be ok financially if it weren’t for this purchase (most of the sector is in trouble), but as far as terrible decisions go this ranks pretty highly www.nottinghampost.com/news/notting...

I just stepped down from editorial board of a Nature subsidiary journal. Sending 300 invites to get 2 accept is soul-destroying. And I wasn’t paid as an editor for handling 10 papers at a time never mind the reviewers! #pay4peerreview

Official invitation to speak at a conference in China, completely focused on TGFb in health and disease. Super excited to see 🇨🇳 and catch up with colleagues at the Ningbo campus of @uniofnottingham.bsky.social. See you in October! ✈️

Discovery is great and makes me happy. But the people make me happy too. A lunchtime picnic with the TC(A)G teams on our beautiful campus (with ice cream from the van!) reminded me (as if I needed it) of what amazing people I work with ❤️

Lots of thoughtful responses to the "concentrate on high quality" research view, in response to Robin's excellent reporting. Worth reading the quote tweets for others' thoughts..
