So is it a genetic mutation like Cyclops' eye blasts? Or is it just because the sewer is toxic, so it's like Spidey's "mutation" in that it came from an external source? Are they classified as "homo subterrania" instead of "homo sapien" or something?

I think it was also to be more sci-fi diverse, what with "ugly mutants existing underground" being a point in HG Wells' Time Machine (also X-Men, but same origin.)

Speaking of X-Men, this got me thinking: Is it fair to call Leela human? Like, she's born that way, and it's seemingly hereditary -->

Leela's grandmother as a child, and her great grandmother. Aside from the normal genetic traits passed down like hair color, they also share a 3-eyed face and tentacle arms, which implies a genetic mutation.

I’m not exactly sure I do “top number“ because my taste fluctuates (plus Amanda Palmer’s sins) but my current faves are The Stupendium, Alice In Chains, Nobuo Uematsu, the 2005 Producers soundtrack, and the “This is how we do” video by Katy Perry. Song has its charm but the video is what gets me.

I think as a society we all moved on too quickly from the time we got the Power Rangers movie where Elizabeth Banks did Toxic Yuri with Becky G. Like that could have been a real pivot for the franchise imo.
