Well it took way longer than expected but this humble account of yours truly has just crossed the 1k followers mark! 🥳🎈🎉

So, as promised, here's finally the commemorative art for display. "Making of" extra material will be available soon! :D
Children's illustration with text: "Here's to my 1000 friends in the BlueSky". Around the number 1000 with a 3-dimensional character, L to R, my characters: Daniel running with a butterfly catcher net pursuing butterflies around: Susana, smiling atop the 1000 number, and Elias leaning on the last zero of 1000, looking on.

I made a post about some of my thoughts on Time Management. I definitely want to do a followup for this because in writing this it brought out a lot of new ideas and thoughts.

036: Time Management
Creating comics is nothing but an exercise in time management

Since drawing/coloring days are muscle memory for me I get to listen to talking head videos I wouldn't otherwise just to torture myself. 🥹 So I found these guys, bearded old farts as me, downing scotch and f-bombs aplenty over design's future in the age of eye-aye. My kind of content. 😅

Not as daring, but once I had this fixation of driving all the way down to Key West FL because it seemed like you were going though the sea to a point in the middle of nowhere. Did it about, what, 12 yrs ago. Life's too short for not doing what you want 😅🚗
I ended hating almost all the books I was assigned for obligatory reading on high school. And that hatred didn't get mellower with age.

As an author, getting on those lists might be a blessing in sales, but at the expense of a damned curse.
Same reaction as I assume the news itself is slop too. Why should I waste time reading something no human really cared to write.
It’s what I’d call the shiny object syndrome. Much of the claims made about AI are for the most part over hyped fluff and marketing to have investors pour money in droves - and so far it’s wildly succeeded. But it’s a bubble overdue bursting. And we’ll see how many still love AI by then. 🎈

Ah, every artist’s dilemma isn’t it?

Over time, I’ve been learning to embrace the “it sucks but it’s done“ feeling. Move on and try again at something else.

Sure there is old art I now find horrid and wish to redo, but — got no time for that. Life’s too short 🥲
Mi elección en ese particular ha sido @vivaldi.com, hace meses que es mi único navegador en el ordenata, tablet y móvil. Y como es Chromium es compatible con la mayoría de extensiones tipo Chrome. No echo de menos nada, la verdad.
Lower 50s here and let me tell you: the midlife crisis isn't just real, it hits you like a ton of bricks.

And of course, all this (points everywhere) doesn't help lots either.

But things should get better before long. Or you just stop caring so much. That's where I cling my hopes to. 🥲✊
Currently: a series of covers for my own comics projects intended for display on my portfolio. These should look like published projects (most aren't but what gives, fake it till you make it and so on). Coloring and logos still pending. #kidlit
WIP portfolio cover for one of my own comics. Depicted: A boy mischeviously ignites an absurdly tall birthday cake with what seems like dynamite sticks, while a girl below looks on and two of his friends search for cover. I see they’ve got other critter-bottles as well
The heck? Not even a prompt about a fitness regime beforehand? These days I don't touch FB even with a 10-feet pole, absolutely not aware of what's going on. This becoming the new normal for those who don't know better is... unsettling 😳
Maybe if they felt their own job in jeopardy because of it, they would think differently about it. Alas, that doesn't seem to be the case or else they would think twice about plastering walls with AI "art". #kidlitchat

Book cover for the YA book ICEBREAKER by A.L. Graziadei showing the two male main protagonist facing each other and holding onto each others collar. Digital art of my original characters Aran and Tao as young adults out at night in their local nyc neighborhood kissing. Tao sits on a bicycle and Aran bends down slightly to kiss him. Mock cover of Suzanne Samin and my upcoming graphic novel. The title still r wads Fear Of Falling but we changed it now to Wherever I’m With You.

The cover shows a brick house fall and Aran and Tao sitting on the rooftop, their legs dangling down the edge, and in big letters underneath them it reads “fear of falling” Digital art of original characters Aran and Tao as young teenagers on a hot summer day walking down the streets in their local nyc neighborhood and playing around with a basketball.
And guess what are genAI LLMs more chock full of...

The whole Ghibli fiasco earlier this year was likely the warning shot for the Japanese government. It has yet to be seen what can they *really* do against OpenAI, but still, 🍿
It's like sales numbers telling one story but the official discourse still clinging to another, for reasons yet to be wholly understood. Numbers don't lie, do they? And yet...
Well I was going to sign up for a publishing newsletter and

...and? so?

Is the former First Lady a prime shareholder at Penguin or what? Why should I care if I'm not a rank-and-file Republican, let alone a US citizen? Anyway, this was rather strange, lol.
Es simple: cuando una entidad o cliente comienza a lanzar publicidad o comunicaciones con frecuencia en esos estilos que antaño no solían contratar, es casi seguro que se trata de IA, me la juego.
Greetings #portfolioDay followers!

Many of Mr. Struzan's movie poster paintings are iconic and rightfully celebrated, but for personal reasons this is my and likely @maxiem0us3.bsky.social 's as well favorite. The background is based on a real NY harbor photo circa 1880s. Drew's signature is visible on the center-right side. #RIP 🙏🏻
Poster art for the animated movie "An American Tail" (1986, Don Bluth) painted by Drew Struzan.
He had been in very ill health for a long time. His art was a definite part of my childhood and then some. #RIP 🙏🏻
