Fear is the point. Chaos is the point. Mass deportations are not about deportation. They are about terrorizing everyone, legal or not, such that normal life becomes impossible. Friends' kids can't play outside anymore. Sports are cancelled. Schools are on lockdown. Fuck these fascists.

This is where the "if you're a legal immigrant you've got nothing to worry about" argument falls apart. If you get fired from your job because you're AWOL for three days while CBP figures out they fucked up, it doesn't really matter that they let you go. They fucked you anyway.

I turned 50 this year. Mr. A is four years older than me and has some kind of complex about dying in his 70s which he won't stop talking about. Reporting gave me an intense understanding of how many people go out for coffee and don't come back. I don't GET all the time we're wasting here.

An older candidate might be impatient because, erm, staring death in the face. A younger one might be impatient because HURRY THE FUCK UP, GRANDPA, WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG. As long as they're both ready to hustle I don't care about their ages. But fucking MOVE already.

I want people who are fucking ANTSY because they recognize we have a limited amount of time while our brains and/or knees work, and wasting it sitting around is a mortal sin.

It's not about old candidates vs. young ones. It's about who recognizes that time is running out, always.
