That doesn’t sound ugly enough to warrant that response.

OK, I think we need to see a picture of these shoes.

That’s my concern as well. I think it’s a good idea but can it be done?
alexstaniforth.bsky.social
Do you? She has presided over introducing section 28 for trans people.

So your definition of independent is a govt body (the NHS) endorsed a govt backed review? Maybe the North Korea analogy isn’t far off after all.

And who criticised this Tory commissioned biased review? Just some idiots at Yale…

I think you’re deliberately misunderstanding my analogy but besides it is NOT evidence based. Take, for example, its embrace of the Cass Review which has been ridiculed by experts across the globe.

If they can do this (I suspect the logistics will be easier said than done) this is actually a very good idea.

John Swinney has used his SNP conference speech to announce a network of community walk-in GP clinics will open across Scotland to end the 8am rush for appointments. They will open seven days a week from 12pm to 8pm.

Jared Leto thinks he’s method acting and in a way he is - he‘s an insufferable asshole to everybody on set and that’s how he comes across on screen.

Chip in today to elect Q Manivannan – a radical voice to the Scottish Parliament who is ready to fight for change.

Any contribution - big or small - will make a huge difference to our people-powered campaign to deliver a record 3 Green MSPs for Edinburgh!

Apparently the ‘adult‘ way of approaching politics is to chew the scenery over an immigrant ‘crisis‘ that isn’t real because someone waved an England flag in your face.

Anything else is just immature, student politics.

Fortunately their current president is an expert at going bankrupt so I’m sure he can steer them through it.

The European Court of Human Rights. Even then, its judges are only human and I’m allowed to disagree with their decisions. Just because something has ‘Equality‘ or ‘Human rights‘ in its name doesn’t make it right.

Unless you believe North Korea is actually a democratic people‘s republic as well.

One part Mr Burns, one part Charlie Day in front of a cork board.

He actually wants to hire a transvestigator! This is something else.

So a trick our household just learned which works with at least some types:

Wrap a £10 note around the neck of the bottle, under the cap, and slide it up. With the right type of security cap it will just pop off easily.

I would kill everyone involved, starting with myself.

Obviously, what we need is for the cis men to speak for the lesbians. Because, as every person who has met a lesbian knows, they are universally shrinking violets who are unable to speak for themselves.

To give an example of what I mean I’m not sure other nations let democratically elected leaders keep their honorific after their term is over but it’s common for people to refer to ex-US presidents as ‘President such and such’.

Deference that other countries gave to their monarch. (Bear in mind the US *almost* had presidents for life - it was seriously considered.)

In the late 18th century this wouldn’t have been considered odd but as more democracies bloomed it became quite a strange quirk.

OK so I have a degree in history (not of journalism) but… Americans are weirdly deferential towards their president compared with other democratic countries imo.

I think it comes from being one of the first modern republics so they set a precedent early on of treating a president with the same…
