Bay Area is a good lot to draw no matter what. Part of me wishes I’d had my siblings’ experience — they grew up in San Francisco and then had their adolescence in Sonoma county, so they have a comfort in cities that I just … don’t.

When we have a house together and I have my own separate room, that is where I will store all my holiday decor, and then and only then will I be allowed to look at the Anthropologie holiday glassware, and finally buy the Spode Christmas dishes.
