Battlefield 2042 did have the Russians but due to events from February 2022 onwards, its text dump narrative is very careful to not explicitly say who won a battle outside for the one won by the "No-Pat" state, and subsequently went for a proto Pan-Asian Coalition vs the US bsky.app/profile/albe...

The retcon of the origins of the Battlefield 2142 Pan Asian Coalition into an alliance of global authoritarian movements probably did use up that card and I actually wouldn't be surprised if Pax Armata is a proto Thousand Petals Coalition

Military procurement usually filters out blatant scams unlike subcontracting (see Fat Leonard for that one), but we're now close on a decade of DOD across admins pushing to cut or simplify testing so new gear can be delivered faster and hopefully cheaper. The VC backed vaporware are the end stage

It's got its moments of competence thanks to Schogol, but generally they're TWZ if you replaced that site's conviction in their wisdom with a need to not offend their target audience, as well as a clickbaity YouTube channel responsible for a lot of the hatred towards the brand

We just try to teach media literacy while access to disinformation that reinforces your beliefs gets easier

But any attempts to "play the game" that aren't Voice of America or the BBC World Service that become public knowledge is viewed as a betrayal of democratic principles

Since I've already ranted on a similar topic already today, I'd argue that there is definitely a perception problem in the civilian space where hostile influence campaigns that are already ongoing are just something we're expected to accept because we're free societies that don't censor

That said a lot of artists went to Misskey first even before BlueSky's own controversy over NSFW content. Makes it a bit dicey over whether the Misskey post is just marked adult because the artist felt that way or I'm about to be flashbanged by their insanely niche fetish
