I learned it from the 10th anniversary Calvin & Hobbes book, which had sections and footnotes from Bill Watterson about all his characters and processes, with diagrams of the different layouts the Sunday papers used, and the battle to get editors to accept his more free-form half-page Sunday comics.
A half-pace Calvin & Hobbes Sunday strip with no panel restrictions.

I know most folk are focusing on the porn aspect, and the dangers associated with that, but I think it’s also worth taking a few seconds to question Sam’s self-back-patting on managing to “mitigate the serious mental health issues” associated with ChatGPT. Not sure we’re in Victory Lap mode, buddy.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says that ChatGPT will soon allow for erotica for verified adults.

‘It was my short kick-out that set up the goal!’ squeals the weird kid who only got handed the gloves in the first place because he was the only viable option left. Didn’t exactly help the ceasefire by flogging weapons, did we?

CAPE VERDE, POPULATION 560,000, QUALIFY FOR A FIRST-EVER WORLD CUP 🇨🇻

The second-smallest nation ever to achieve that feat. Every US state has a bigger population, yet the Blue Sharks are on their way to football's big dance. Astonishing and inspiring 🦈

Boy, folk are just too quick to criticise. Can’t we acknowledge and celebrate the 2% of houses where it was successful?

“According to the NAO, 98% of homes that had external wall insulation installed…have problems that will lead to damp and mould if left unaddressed.”

Insulation programmes costing billions of pounds have led to widespread problems with damp and mould.

I’m not convinced that the gap between the terms ‘hostages’ and ‘detainees held without charge’ is as wide as the media seems keen to paint it.

I see everyone has decided that the fight at the end of the Lions-Chiefs game has confirmed everything they always thought about whichever player(s) involved they dislike most. Clear as day. Watch the video.

Fair enough if Neil McCann feels there was no need for booing after that Scotland game, but there was no need for applause either. Stony silence would have been perfect.

Think you can definitely extend that back to the first Belarus game too. And arguably the Denmark game - solid result, but the Danes were very ordinary in that match. The lack of any dynamism at all is baffling. Keep hearing ‘We know we need to improve’, and then they don’t. (And yet, table-toppers)

I genuinely hate being this negative about a team that keeps getting results. It feels perverse. But we’re in danger of rubbing our way right through the green at this point.

Belarus have deserved a goal. Going to be some established players who struggle to get back into this team, because the youngsters have given a really good account of themselves tonight. Wish I could say the same for Scotland.

Not sure who I’d give it to in all honesty, but love the classic ‘hospitality suite pick’ for Man Of The Match. ‘Che Adams scored. That’ll do.’

Feeling weirdly wound-up because we’ve looked rank against poor opposition and yet won by two goals.

I’m guessing this must be how Celtic fans feel every week.

“If we get to the World Cup, the performances won’t matter” - I don’t know. I think the performances matter a bit. I’d rather not qualify and then play so badly in every game that it sullies a whole tournament for me again, if we can help it.
alanhazlie.bsky.social
What a let-off that is. Would have been pretty miffed if that had ruled out a Scotland goal.
