have had bad random arm/elbow/wrist pain for the past couple weeks and am trying to ease myself back to art and lettering work w/a doll faceup mockup and even *that* hurts and that's like zero effort 😭

I don't think a ton of tourists know about it so it's nice and chill. I usually go there after I go to Radio Kaikan to decompress a bit.

Yeah I think it's the honten, it's huge! They knocked out a wall and made it even bigger a few years ago and yet it is still incredibly crowded, and smaller animates are even worse to be in 😭

OH!!! actually do you know the name? I wanted to go to at least one of the Gundam bars. I just checked a map and I'm 99% sure the official cafe is gone and replaced by Tamashii nations.

Yeah, the atmosphere is nice! I did Grandcypher cafe last time and I might make Eorzea cafe my one collab cafe visit of the trip this time.

Relevant to Cyd's interests, Grandcypher cafe and Eorzea cafe are in Akiba too. Same location. Food ain't great but it's not a bad experience.

ohhhhhhh mayhaps it reopened! I know it got shut down a while ago, I think also alongside the AKB48 cafe cause I think they wanted to redevelop that area.

Oh yeah secret shrine and secret bridge slaps!! I have to cross it to get to one of the BJD-specific stores I go to.

Rajiokai is the best tho and it's right by the station so I don't mind going to it.

... and if you're going to Animate in the first place, I would just go to the one in Ikebukuro because it's larger/probably the honten and it will still be the world's most uncomfortably crowded store in the middle of a weekday even at the largest location lol.

I'm not sure if the doujin shops are still there or not. I know they're sort of a dying breed and they may have been replaced.

There's also a large(ish) Animate and a the big Amiami store, though I've never been to it.
The 2nd hand shop pricing in Akiba can get Silly, I think 'cause tourists.

Radio Kaikan is worth it Imo. Other than BJD specific stores I try to avoid Akiba because I simply don't care for it.
Rajiokai has a bunch of cool hobby shops crammed into it so it's a good one-stop place where you can start at the top and work your way down.

The cover stock especially for Karaiko is soooo fragile, I think I'm going to have to buy most of my manga at Kino from now on because I've had next to no luck finding undamaged copies ad b&n.
