Starmer has no vision for the country. He doesn't believe in anything. He's even said as much.
"You know this from getting to know me," he
says. "I'm not one of these ideological thinkers,
where ideology dictates what I do. I'm a
pragmatist. You can badge these things as U-
turns - it's common sense to me.
"If someone says to me, 'here's some more
information and I really think it's the right thing
to do', I'm the kind of person that says, 'well in
which case, let's do it'."

It was down to the FPTP electoral system. None of them had ever had the chance to cast a meaningful vote before (they all lived in safe seats). The referendum was their first opportunity to cast a vote that actually mattered, and they wanted to hurt the government. They ended up hurting themselves.

Funny enough (I'm in Spain at the moment), we were delayed more than the British passport holders on entry because the machines were so slow, and the border control police so efficient. Of course, the new system wasn't introduced yet, so...

I know decent people who voted 'Leave' because they just wanted to "give the government a bloody nose." I told them that this was not the issue to do it with, but they wouldn't charge their minds. I don’t hate them, and I'm not angry with them, but I still find it hard to forgive them.

I'm going to try very hard to resist doing the same as I stroll through with my Irish passport.

But Barron is a tech genius. Don't you remember Donald proudly telling the world that he can turn a computer on all on his own?

Having sold all the infrastructure and utilities, we are now down to selling actual parts of the country and the workforce within. (See Freeports and SEZs.)

But also "too many immigrants" is (according to Farage) the cause of ALL the country's ills. So whatever he's asked about, he bangs on about immigrants. Nobody ever points out that, eg. immigrants form a higher proportion of clinical staff than clinical patients.

That's the one. The one he doesn't remember meeting.

"I have worked with Nathan Gill over a period of years and he's been terrific, he's never, ever, let me down. He's as honest as the day is long."

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

He does get ASKED about other things, but he always ANSWERS about brown people and small boats. And the 'journalists' don't have the sense/will to point that out.

I'm not saying it's a GOOD braking system, and it would explain why it wasn't widely taken up.
ajfarrelly.bsky.social
I'm convinced it brakes on the bottom bracket rather than the wheel.

Also, from the other angle, they're far too wide apart.

Can't be a tyre brake as it's on the outside of the chain (1) so it would hit the chain, not the tyre. I think it stops the bottom bracket spindle. There are some small teeth there (2). I think it might engage with those.
Bottom bracket and brake mechanism.
