When Zubat and Golbat were introduced in Gen 1, it was supposed to be a 3 stage line like it ended up being in Gen 2. As far as we know, it was the only form of sawsbuck at the time. Summer sawsbuck and autumn sawsbuck were probably built on this design though. This is actually the second version of sawsbuck GF made. The original design had antlers closer to the spring form.

Scyther and Pinsir were originally counterparts in gen 1. When Scyther got an evo in gen 2, Pinsir was also supposed to get one. Plucks was Bug/Steel while original Scizor was still Bug/Flying. It’s theorized that Plucks was reworked into Heracross. #Pokemon #BetaMon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt

The whole hoppip line was based on cats. It’s obvious in hoppip, but final jumpluff doesn’t retain a lot of the cat features. Beta Jumpluff was way more cat like with the ears and the long tail. Hoppip would eventually take the pink palette from Jumpluff. #Pokemon #BetaMon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt
