Yup. I get that free services need to make their revenue somehow but it feels like there's been an arms race of ads being made increasingly obnoxious and intrusive because there's so many of them competing for attention and it just makes everything gradually more miserable to use

Yup. I suspect they've been intentionally making the experience worse for a while bc they want people to pay for their subscription which like, people are already used to the service being free and will resent it being made shitty unless they start paying for it

If you haven't used youtube without an adblocker lately lemme tell you it's straight up completely unusable. More ads than TV and they just cut videos off mid sentence every time. It played the same exact ad 10 times for me within the first like 15-20 minutes of a video before I gave up
