☄️ La comète interstellaire 3I/ATLAS passe en ce moment au plus près de Mars (à ~30 millions de km). La nuit dernière, le rover Perseverance a pointé sa caméra Mastcam-Z vers le ciel. Et il semblerait bien qu'il l'ait observée 🤩 On voit un petit nuage qui se trouve parfaitement là où on l'attendait 🤯

Well, I did some simulations to show that a manuscript's claims were bad, sent my explanation to the journal (a respectable one) with a suggestion to make major modifications... and they decided to publish "as it is".

I am going to refuse reviewing for a little while (and publish elsewhere)

Great news! SWFO-L1 successfully launched at 7:32am EDT, Sep 24, and a successful acquisition of signal has been received.

This NOAA satellite is the first designed specifically for continuous, operational space weather observations. This includes solar wind and coronagraph measurements.

A spectacular image of two comets that are in the same region of the sky. Both are bright green and have a bulb for the head. They have long narrow yet diffuse tails. They are set amongst a field of stars.

Sans oublier que pas mal d'instruments ont été développés avant ces 10ans pour être sélectionnés...
Ce sont les missions comme Vénus Express ou insight , qui réutilisent des plates-formes mâtures, qui nous font croire qu'on peut faire une mission interplanétaire en quelques années

Fun fact, the current coronal hole about to face Earth has been alive since FEBRUARY this year. This is a very long-lived coronal hole and a hallmark of a descending-phase solar cycle. Check out this movie of the Earth-facing disk via SDO/AIA (212 Å filter) over the past seven or so months.
