In a normal world this would be a scandal and would garner congressional hearings. In the T admin, it’s just another day. Good lord this is bleak…

No Kings New Orleans! Several thousand at least.
I’ve been thinking about the same thing and it’s honestly given me sleepless nights.
Every single person who voted to confirm Hegseth should be made to go on record and state if they agree with the fascist vitriol he spewed this morning. Basically an endorsement of war crimes.
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."
And there it is, Trump will make military leaders pass the loyalty test of gaining his approval. I have to imagine he’ll ask questions along the lines of “who won the 2020 election?” This is so unbelievably stupid, dangerous, and wrong. Another step into fascism. 🤬
I know we all expected this speech by Hegseth to be some culture war BS filled with as many references to “warriors” and “lethality” as he could fit in, but good god this is stupid. Why did these officers need to physically be there? This could’ve been an email or a damn tweet…
This game is gonna give me high blood pressure…🧀 #GoPackGo
Day full of awesome college football, and got an incredible gift in the mail from my sister. Yeah, it’s been a good day.
Russian aircraft and drones are violating the airspace of nearly a half-dozen NATO countries on an almost daily basis. But sure, let’s pull ALL of our flag officers from their commands to listen to a hype speech…this administration is so unbelievably unserious.
This is going to end up being the most pointless and expensive "this meeting could have been an email" in history.
This Trump address to the UN is beyond embarrassing. It’s just a narcissistic rant about himself with a few conspiracy theories and insults thrown in. 🤦🏻‍♂️
I just saw this news and it’s taking every ounce of strength not to chuck my phone across the room. lol
Exactly! A couple of my students brought that up in my conflict course today. NATO (and the U.S. in particular) need to respond to this provocation strongly if they hope to reestablish deterrence.
I take one night away from social media and the news and Russia probes NATO airspace…what the hell?!
A good day of bayou exploring.

LaSpisa and Mitchell (2025) find that democratic dyads are more prone to maritime conflict due to stronger domestic interests, executive constraints, and weaker territorial norms at sea.

It won’t end with these strikes tonight. Highly likely Iran will respond against our bases across the region, which will then necessitate a reciprocal US response. The amount of hardware the US has moved into the region suggests preparations for an extended conflict. Stupidity and insanity.

BREAKING: President Trump announces air strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran. cnn.it/43WM4OF
Publicly setting conditions for ceasefire as “unconditional surrender” and using the term “we” to describe establishing air superiority sounds an awful lot like he’s announcing US entry into the conflict in the dumbest way possible. This will be a geostrategic disaster.
After the 🇺🇦 operation against 🇷🇺 airfields and now the 🇮🇱 operation against 🇮🇷 air defenses, any NATO country not investing massively in littoral air superiority, anti-drone tech, and robust SHORAD capabilities is not paying attention & isn’t prepared for 21st century conflicts.
Can today just like…stop. Like can we postpone everything and save some of the “bat-shit crazy” for next week maybe?

Senior officers of the United States military have an obligation to speak up and be leaders. Where is the Army chief of staff? Will he or others speak truth to the commander in chief and put a stop to the assault on the integrity of his troops? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
The Silence of the Generals
As President Donald Trump crossed a dangerous line at Fort Bragg, the Army’s brass failed to speak out in its defense.

Every elected Democrat (& Republicans who still care about the Constitution), needs to echo this message from the rooftops. Protest is good, just, and a protected right, violence is not. Trump and his sycophants want an excuse to escalate, protestors must not play into his hands.
The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles — not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.

Don't give them one.

Never use violence. Speak out peacefully.
