The Patriots will reportedly keep paying a majority of Kyle Dugger's remaining base salary this season to complete their trade with the Steelers.

One aspect of these trades is the two open roster spots that can go to players are a part of the Patriots future. Game day actives could also change with those snaps opening up.

The Patriots have two 7th rounders: their own, and one they got from the Saints in the Davon Godchaux trade.

We await to see which ones moved in the Keion White trade.

The trade of White has been brewing since the second week of training camp. Those 30-second highlight vids were never sustained, and his run defense actually regressed. Physically talented, but it hasn't happened here.

one of the first things Eliot Wolf did upon taking over the Patriots front office was give Kyler Dugger a contract extension.

18 months later, he's out for virtually nothing and presumably Wolf is not in charge any more.

After today's practice squad transactions I now have the Patriots salary cap space number as $51,625,197 - a $175K decrease

Am projecting the Pats to end the 2025 season with about $46M in cap space

As of 5PM EDT October 28 I have the Patriots cap space number as $51,625,197 - a $175,000 decrease from my last update. This number does not account for the impact of the Marcus Jones extension.

I have the Patriots with 53 active players on their roster. They also have eight players on Injured Reserve, seventeen players on their practice squad and one player on Practice Squad injured reserve.

Am projecting the Patriots to end the 2025 regular season with around $46M in cap space after accounting for practice squad elevations, earned NLTBE active roster bonuses and replacing injured players

Normally, I would be upset that a good player like Dugger, who has shown the ability to be a star, is likely gone, but this staff has shown that they know what they're doing so far. If this is in the best interest of the team, I am all for it, despite it being bittersweet.

Biggest factors are coaching staff, quality QB, and drafting well. Thankfully those have all hit this year for the Pats. Key now is retain talent, build up the younger guys, and keep kicking ass.
