Just like any fanwork gives credit from the original source, writing can and often does more than any other medium.

The reason you can't convince me is simple: I've had my work stolen before!

A more known BNF in a fandom stole my entire world and wrote it as their own only omegaverse.

And the only reason I consider it stolen is because there was no credit given to me of my world.

The fact that I will never be able to print my fanwork and show it at cons because it is "writing" is wrong. Pure and simple.

You will never convince me otherwise. It is wrong and devalues writers and words as not transformative enough when they hold equal value as any other medium.

in the work and allow it to exist. Copyright laws are all messy bullshit when it comes to what is or is not transformative. They are mainly based on lawsuits, with different judges making very polarized decisions.

Honestly, do not try to convince me. You cannot. Every person who has tried to convince me has shown me how little they value authors and words and how okay they are with maintaining the status quo.

ALL fanwork is "technically" copyright stepping. We all share a universal understanding of value
