You were not gatekeeping “potential creatives”, you were gatekeeping people who were too lazy to try. And that is perfectly valid.

A big thing about people who think like this is that they don’t realize: learning how to be happy for other people is a HUGE step in the direction of learning how to be happy for yourself.

How that would help me? Because I already do that but the fact that I have nothing to celebrate myself make me just bitter in return
