I changed my handle, as I own the domain ‘64ordle.au’ which is quicker to type than ‘catherine-cowie.bsky.social’.

I hope y’all understand. The current avatar photo was taken on 4 July 2022, and the banner picture more recently at a TMBG concert – a funny thing happened on the way to the forum …
Why wouldn’t anyone want to meet the friendly students at the Royal College of Saint Almsworth? Christine loves making new friends at parties!
my amazing friend @emoryahlberg.bsky.social, who rendered the original designs for many of the Dorley characters, has returned to her model for Christine and rendered a new image that I am currently going FERAL over
And part of the translation is on the mug! 😹
This is an awesome new Christine render! I already loved Emory’s previous Christine images, but this one in front of a big slab of sandstone building with a Saints top is fantastic. LLAP!
No, she uses a 3D body / set modelling program to design her characters.

So… I’ve written a fanfic novel based on Alyson Greaves’ sci-fi novel of alienation and transformation, (kimmy).

You can read {steffy}, a novel in nine parts and seventy-two scenes:

I couldn’t have done it without you.

💛_💛
There’s a few familiar characters you’ll encounter, and others drawn in from elsewhere…

(I’ve also posted links to other fanfics based on (kimmy) recently, as the entire field has burgeoned recently; my novel is the smallest of three that have been written more or less simultaneously.)
Also… (in the last week)

The version on ScribbleHub is going up one part at a time each Thursday; if you prefer to power through in one sitting, it’s a relatively short novel of just over fifty thousand words, with download options for PDF and e-readers on AO3.

Please note the content warnings on this work and take care.

It’s a wonderful novel, and a surprisingly easy read in some ways; excruciating in others.
As for the question you ask at the end Jolyon—I believe the answer to it will be…

‘No.’

People like Falkner never apologise for brutalising the lives of trans people. Never in a hundred lifetimes.
I mean, gender dysphoria obviously has to be measured as a net social cost to a society. Seen in those terms surely the odd orchi, vaginoplasty, breast reduction or augmentation, or metioidoplasty has to be a net social good for a more cohesive social fabric. Sheesh, Ari.
‘From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs’ BUT EXCLUDING PROVISION OF DESIGNER VAGINAS, RIGHT?
I don’t think Aristophanes is really that fussed these days on how many bre-ke-ke-kes you ribbet.

Sorry, repeat. I think he’d be cheering on the frogs!

Even the list of illustrations on that page is illuminating, as whatever Frank–Eunice, Angelo–Phyllis, and Jennie were up to in Stuyvesant Sq or the Bowery, they were fully aware that they were /not/ a new phenomenon, out of time. They were fully aware that there were others like them in past times.
Great.

I appear to be in BlueSky moderation jail because of the image import—from of all places, Wikipedia—being tagged as ‘explicit sexual imagery’.
I wonder whether BlueSky will have similar conniptions about the ancient statue, now usually referred to as ‘Sleeping Hermaphaditus’.

Remember, this is a /statue/.

There’s a Wikipedia article for Jennie June (BSky moderation immediately slapped an ‘adult content’ warning on the preview picture, grr…)
