tabletop games + app games + pie + AsAm Adoptee + She/Her = ruining games one skeet at a time. hates puns - but in a fun way. @saltandsass.bsky.social. i keep 3 things: secrets, promises, and grudges.

I talk about this with @613mandi.bsky.social a lot. The exchange rate for Canada is brutal. (More so for folks in Australia and some other regions.) I really wish it were otherwise. The price in USD for the content is reasonable... but toss in that exchange rate? Yeah. I get it.

The hardest thing for ANY tabletop game is just getting people to know the game exists. Awareness. And if you're an indie maker? Oof - it's so difficult.

Anyway - here's a new project from a fabulous designer (and person) who makes RPGs that sometimes make me feel sad in a good way. :)

Lots of really big crowdfunding campaigns and preorders launching today. Here's to tossing in my little project!

You can find RITE: A Midwinter Sacrament #TTRPG #zine below. You can grab it for $7 and receive it before the bleak midwinter.

7 day campaign. Thanks for sharing.
Coming soon: RITE: A Midwinter Sacrament RPG Zine
An RPG Zine for up to four players participating in four sacraments during the bleak midwinter.

Anyway - I liked the game so much I'm backing it. It's a really weird time in crowdfunding and it's a tough market for indie designers. Take a look and hopefully you'll be charmed too so that the project funds and I can get my copy of the game! 😂

... good play time that's satisfying but not overly long, the auction keeps you engaged in the game the whole time, and it has a ton of personality. From the same designer as Out of Sorts!
more cards from club spooky in my tableau showing cads with names like Winston the Warlock, Pete the Plant, Melvin the Many, and Ashwin the Arachnid. The unique illustrations feature a colorful sketch style

I have a whole thing about small indie designers/publishers making great games from the heart. I had the chance to play Club Spooky a few weeks ago and was utterly charmed by it.

There's tension in the simple auction system that lures club goers to your hall, solid scoring and tableau building...
club spooky in play - a tableau of cards that each feature a spoooooky character with a name some icons and sometimes a scoring ability.

Insta-back for me. Notorious is one of my favorite Solo RPGS - perfect balance of setting, imagination, and structure for me. Now a card game in that world? Heck yes. There's a PnP level too that makes it a very affordable option.

Plus look at these characters!!! 💚
3 cards with character illustrations. One looks bird-like, one frog-like with a wrench, and one is kind of robot like with side buns. They're colorful and bright and quirky-cute.

I LOVE those tokens so much!!! Charming unnecessary details that add joy to a game make me very happy.

My cousin is a very highly paid consultant in the oil industry and keeps very up on fuel tech and he is very much on the HFC side of the "this should be the new fuel" side of the discussion. But I also think of Betamax vs VHS... 🤷‍♀️

Ellie - you're such a star! I am stoked to hear more.

Hey #portfolioday

I’m a graphic designer who makes analog games. Here are some fun illustrations I made for our chill diving game Aquamarine.

Yeah… the article points out that recharging stations are a big limiter. But from my understanding the potential of hydrogen fuel cells is better overall. Investing in long term solutions that don’t have immediate short term financial bennies is not common here though.

I like seeing this progress on hydrogen fuel cars… I really would like this tech to work out.

Hyundai Motor’s Nexo, Korea’s only hydrogen fuel cell passenger car, is gaining traction. The model has sold more than 1,000 units per month for the past three months, signaling steady growth in a market constrained by limited charging infrastructure. buff.ly/HADEqZ2

Gotcha! That's why I asked. :) Thanks for helping me understand your context!

I'm not sure the context of your reply. I know what a tariff is and have a good sense of how it impacts goods and board games specifically. Does it come across like I shared that post implying something else?

I'm excited for this one. Great cast!

Yup. My favorite yarn is from Australia. My favorite sneakers are from Japan. The sneakers have skyrocketed in price to compensate so I can't justify the cost. And the yarn maker from Australia went through a "we can't ship to the USA" period. It just opened up but the fees will be awful.
