After two decades @ecography.bsky.social , I’m signing off. We grew the journal’s scope, navigated a smooth shift to OA, and kept community at the centre. Grateful to authors, reviewers and colleagues. Warmest wishes to my successor, @cnmeynard.bsky.social doi.org/10.1002/ecog...

Inspiring moments in my annual lab meeting (2025).
Portugal is expanding conservation to 30% to meet #Biodiversity2030 goals. New study highlights refugia where species can persist or shift under climate change—ensuring conservation supports climate-resilient conservation.

It’s often said, half in jest, that in the UK the third most important figure is the Queen of England — in this case, the King. Above the monarch is God. And above God is David Attenborough.
Happy 99th birthday, Sir David Attenborough.
We’re in the 5th edition of the Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity. From youth movements to sustainable agriculture, we’ve honoured bold climate action. A privilege to serve under Presidents Sampaio & Merkel. The 2025 laureate will be announced in July. #ClimateAction
We show that marine communities around the world exhibit trophic convergence in similar environments — a global pattern echoing what we also found on land. This challenges classic biogeographic models and opens new doors for predicting biodiversity responses to change.
