Section 504 in the Rehabilitation Act in 1972 was as short as a tweet, but it belied the volumes of language it would generate in the coming years of disability history. #DisabilityPrideMonth #ADA35 @lendavis.bsky.social

This American Life is rebroadcasting my segment this weekend for Father’s Day It starts about 5 minutes into the episode. It's about using DNA testing to find out if my father was my biological father.
Go Ask Your Father - This American Life
Sons and daughters get to find out the one thing they've always wanted to know about their father.

Contacted them. They get their books from distributors. They will check which distributor and will ban the book for sale from their list.
I contacted them. They said they get it from a distributor. I asked them to let me know who the distributor is. Waiting to find out. They said they will blacklist the book on their list and won't sell it.
Looks like someone got the page proofs illegally. Yes, it was typeset.
When I get to the bottom of what happened I will let you know. In the meantime, could you please indicate to your followers the actual state of things? There certainly was no intention on my part or Rebecca's to have this work surface. Quite the opposite.
Whether there is a pirated edition that someone got published (and somehow got the page proofs?) is up for speculation. My editor says he will get the Amazon and Barnes and Noble listing taken down. But I want you to know this has nothing to do with me or Rebecca.
Sami, I don't know what is going on.Your post was the first I have heard about this bootleg edition. I am in touch with Routledge to find out what happened. I had zero knowledge of this and my editor at Routledge as well as Rebecca have no knowledge.
Thank you. This is both shocking and horrible. For many reasons. I'm in communication with Routledge right now.
Hi Chloe,
This is news to me (and to my editor at Routledge.) I'm shocked to find this out. I assume that this is somehow a pirated edition. Does it include the section on Neurodiversity? Part VIII?

Can you show me the contents of the book, because neither I nor Routledge have put this book out. Thank you.
A fake version of the Disability Studies Reader 6th edition has been put up on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The 6th edition was never published. Routledge is working to get the listing taken down. Please do not order it because this is a scam. All the previous editions 1st through 5th are genuine.
Hi Sami
I can't explain this photo, except to say that the picture doesn't show a book, only a single page. If there is a book out there, it wasn't published by Routledge. I would have a copy and so would my editor.

I notified the editor at Routledge who will get the Amazon and Barnes and Noble listings taken down. I would appreciate it if you could let your followers know this. Thank you.
Sorry, it doesn't exist. Amazon posted this a long time ago, but we never published the 6th edition. Thank you for letting me know. I've informed Routledge who should be able to get Amazon to remove the listing.
That listing was put up before the publication of the DSR6 and it was never taken down. Check the Routledge website.
Amazon listed it before it was supposed to be published. They never removed the listing.
Again. The DSR6 was never published. Amazon for some reason has it listed, but it was never published. Check Routlege's website.
Sami. The DSR is not out. It was never published.
