Meanwhile, the vast, vast majority of people belong to what would now be portrayed as “the extreme Left.”
It’s a perception game and narrative control.
They became the conservative party and the project isn’t even close to being finished.
And then, remember that Bush Era Republicans and the Cheneys were embraced and then liberal think tanks got funded by the Koch’s.
I hate these fuckers.
It’s all shoddy and embarassing.
It’s almost like capitalism is inherently self-destructive.
It’s the march of capitalism and its reliance on hidden and then overt authoritarianism. We can see where this is going by looking at what we did to others, and so we must band together with them
We have work to do. A lot of work.
Failing to do that likely means something even worse after Trump.
Choosing to just hope these disenchanted supporters vote Democratic gets us nowhere.
The former group includes fascistic tech oligarchs and fascist groups that want to go well beyond liberal democracy and Trump himself.
The anger that animates MAGA is shifting toward more overtly antidemocratic and authoritarian sources.
