And some pay less. We have an EV and solar, so fuel is free. (If we had to pay the utility it would run us about $200/year.) And the only maintenance we’ve had since replacing a tire two years ago is the occasional car wash.
Much quieter than last year in Sacramento. Possibly due in part to new laws with bigger fines for illegal fireworks, in addition to the BBB.
Unsurprisingly the 12 percent figure is very misleading.

Our heat pump water heater was about $7k before utility and tax subsidies. It costs very little to run and dehumidifies the basement as a bonus.

🧵 I live in Los Angeles. We have not had to evacuate and are safe, but like many people here, I have friends who have lost everything. I realize I can't combat the firehose (see what I did there?) of bullshit spewing about this disaster from internet and media sources, but I'll say this:
