But don't worry, they will absolutely 100% no questions decide *not* to follow the orders when he says to murder Americans. Absolutely.

Eh... Hopefully they gave a reason. But ultimately it's the editor-in-chief who makes the call not the reviewers not the associates. I'm not saying what happened was right, I am saying what happened was procedurally correct
You wonder what the hell they were doing for 18 months.
I've been an editor in chief of various journals for 20 years or more and sometimes yes it does take a long time but 18 months seems...

These are very cute, and do show up the ridiculous of the situation.
They are also absolutely utterly performative and ineffective.
They shot a priest in the head with a sub lethal munition. You think they're going to be turned back by somebody dressed up as Bowser?

Portland-based streamer Brooks Brown and a few of his friends created Operation Inflation, an organization providing puff-up costumes to those protesting the crackdown by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
How inflatable frog suits became the protest fashion statement of the year
Costumes have been worn as political symbols for decades, but animal outfits have become especially popular at anti-ICE demonstrations in Portland, Oregon.

God his hot takes during brexit, especially around northern Ireland , were absurdly offbeam
Speaking to a colleague in the United States today.
His University has advised all faculty on H1B and all research students NOT to travel to overseas conferences. It's going to be interesting after the Christmas and New Year break to see if there is a slew of students denied re-entry

Think that depends.
Notebook LM is pretty good. It only works on what's in its walled garden.
If you give pretty strict guide rails, you can reduce hallucination to near zero in other ones.
If you use free tiers? You're going to end up with garbage

When I taught a PhD "publications and process" module we had at least one session on how to be a good reviewer and citizen.
But it's not common

That looks very concentrated in Trump supporting areas...

Some 22 million Americans are set to lose health insurance subsidies by the end of the year.
Here's who it will affect and what will happen if the subsidies are allowed to expire:

From the outside this is exactly what the US Democrats reaction towards ICE seems like - performative, self-congratulatory, absolutely utterly ineffective.
I guess it's one step above thoughts and prayers

Unfortunately the USA has not only declined to be part of the international criminal Court but has in fact sanctioned members of the international family court. Your nation has gone rogue. And nobody from the outside is going to come and save you.
And Americans still think that their local small town police forces are going to stand up for them....
My feeling is it's up to voters to educ themselves.
As Lincoln said "the people can vote to turn their backside to the fire but then they will have to learn to sit upon the blisters".
This, them, now

I'm going to regret asking you this, giving you have an unnerving ability to find dystopian but sadly plausible outcomes.... Where do you see this going? This being the United States speed running into whatever it is?
I mean forget about the fact that the Northeast voted overwhelmingly to stay within the union. Or that legally, the war of independence was actually declared by us.
I'm suggesting that there must be some democratic law officers somewhere who will take the step of arresting some of these goons for the innumerable laws they are breaking
I'm suggesting that some senior democratic leaders, whether in state or federal situations where they have immunity from their speech, start reading out the names and addresses of ICE leadership
I'm suggesting that for example the senior democratic leadership could show up at some of these protests and just beg to be arrested and handcuffed
I'm not denying facts. I live in the place.
I'm pointing out some of the well-known economic issues. Fun fact... That's kind of my job. No I and others have been polite to you to suggest this things are not as simple as you suggest so please return the politeness

Yes this is something about which we are quite aware. Multinationals however tend to have multi-billion investments and don't just ubsticks chasing marginal tax changes.
We already increased our taxes and didn't see any major changes.
