First time in 1000 entries I've seen this (a clear descriptor of a vagrant Black person). This man (very likely) was thought to be about 70 years of age, and found in Wednesbury in the West Midlands in 1832.

For the uninitiated, ‘Wednesbury’ is one of the most famous English legal cases.
As you can perhaps infer from the replies, it deals with what is ‘unreasonable’ for a public body to do.

Wednesfield (sub-Area 4) has been in Wolverhampton North East since 1974 and was in Wolverhampton East between 1885 & 1950. From 1950-55 it was in Wednesbury constituency and in Cannock from 1955-74.

I get that it's more economical to sort at a central hub, but it does amuse me that something I ordered will have travelled from Wigan to Liverpool, then sorted in the west midlands, before coming back to Lancashire🤣 i may as hv jst drove to Wigan to buy the bloody thing the petrol is probs cheaper!
