I mean seriously vbscript is built into excel. You can also in google sheets write google script plugins

Maybe it's time for me to resurrect 'Monitaurus' which was a VBScript based monitoring tool I wrote in about 2006. I did it as a joke to see if I could replicate 80% of what the 'Computer Associates NSM' product was doing for us. It was a success and in less than 1 kilobyte of code. 😂

Yep, and Microsoft was freaking out because the browser was evolving into the "write once run anywhere" platform of their nightmares. They tried to make VBscript the standard instead of Javascript, and even tried borking HTTP. ("de-commodifying protocols")

...and please PA-LEASE: stop commenting #powershell like it's vbscript. The .SYNOPSIS, .DESCRIPTION, and .PARAMETER lines (among others) are SUPER DUPER HELPFUL if you use them. You're already writing powershell, so you're at the 5 yrd line.

メイン PC 以外をじわじわと Win. 11 に更新中。 HTA は Win. 10 だと動かすのに工夫が要ったが 11 だとアッサリ動いた。 しかし VBScript には動くものと動かないものとがあり原因は今のところ不明。 いずれ C# 等に置き換えようとは思っているが面倒だ(汗笑)。
