What frustrates me about the people who claim they "have" to drive is that they then oppose changes that will benefit everyone, themselves included. Of course #transportpolicy has to include exceptions, but that doesn't amount to an argument against change.

#geography #transportpolicy

4/4 The strategic task for the UK Government must therefore shift from managing scarcity to eliminating it.

📌 Wilson & Boateng (2018), Koźlak & Wach (2018), Odeleye & Umar (2021), and Yu & Xie (2024) all highlight the potential of integrating telework into smart mobility strategies and land use planning. But the institutional architecture is still lacking.

Fuel excise doesn’t fund most Aussie roads.
75% = council rates
25% = state (rego, etc.)
<1% = federal So replacing fuel excise with an EV tax? It’s not about fairness, it’s just another tax. #EVTax #RoadFunding #TransportPolicy #AustraliaEVs

#geography #transportpolicy

Is reducing road danger a ‘war on motorists’?
LTNs cut injuries by 35% in London.
Most VRU deaths involve cars, not bikes or pedestrians.
Evidence matters.
