Many years ago, my father gave me some very important advice while teaching me to use a tablesaw. So I made him a special push stick as a gift with that advice engraved on it. #woodworking

@shoq Running with your metaphor - Right now AI is a tablesaw without any safety guides, or worse it's a chainsaw. Yes it can be a useful tool but it needs safety measures and guides before it's more useful than dangerous. . . because humans can be really really stupid.

that's a lot of you following me for what I can only presume are misguided reasons

the woodshop is on hold as my cyborg eyes calibrate but we've got podcasts and 3d printing and bad programming takes and HEY YOU, WITH THE TABLESAW, BUY A DUST GUARD

go listen to normal men. normalmen.podbean.com

I don't hate my computer great tool

Easier to play War in the East PC than it is to play Fire in the East bordgame But FitE is more fun

A PC is like a table saw vs a hand saw
I've had the same handsaw for years
My tablesaw is often a hassle to use
So is the PC sometimes
Might prefer a typewriter

Cutting up some strips for my next cheese slicer board. Decided to skip the cherry and go with purpleheart and bloodwood instead. What do you think of the combo?

Cutting maple and mahogany into strips for another cheese board. Can’t wait to get this one added to the store before the grand reopening. What do you think?

By far the funniest part of this episode was at the end of the Tablesaw 2 video when Amazon decided to flash a “7+” maturity rating on the screen.

it’s not my favorite but it’s not a bad one at all

the tablesaw market is weird though because (if you have the space for it) you can get a contractor saw with a cast iron table for about the same price as a good jobsite/folding one

by comparison, accounting for materials, the tablesaw shrouds net like $270/hour because of how clean I have the assembly process

Honestly this is a good saw assortment! Could round it off with a tablesaw and then you’d be living the dream.

like, I assembed a batch of tablesaw shrouds today. they use M2.5 and M3 screws in a lot of places, and fortunately because I Like Good Design they're designed in such a way that I could literally assemble them blind (everything has physical guides), because aiming a 1.5mm screwdriver? not easy!

or not-so-complex, just low-volume. I sell about 300 tablesaw dust collectors a year as a very small side hustle. designed them myself and do almost no marketing
