Calling this list "Rakdos" is hilarious. It serves to muddy the waters - the deck is a monored deck that plays one Verge to, on very rare occasion, cast one off-colour side of a Split Card (Adventure).
Not calling it Monored just serves to launder the terrible situation in Standard right now.

Picked up Golgari Cat Food to run through a #MTGPauper league and the first match was against Rakdos Madness. Lost game one; they scooped game two too early. Game three I fire off a Weather the Storm for only 6 life to pad my life total and go on to win.

Just like tithe, you *can* still put war tax in your 4 colour Atraxa deck but... thats 4 white pips now, not 3W
And sure, you can put Smothering tithe in your Rakdos deck but... its 4 red pips there (and *this* timeline never got dockside because War Tax addressed the issue earlier in the year)

This is such a great way to put it. It's not about what is permissible to cast in-game, it's about color identity at a base level. Like it or not, Rakdos Shred-Freak is both Red and Black as an identity. You can't just say it's Red "only if you want it to be."

Planeswalkers are able to adapt and change their color identity over time so why can't we? Sarkhan has been: Red, Rakdos, Izzet, Gruul and Temur. Nissa has been Green, Simic and Golgari. Jaya has a printing of lightning strike that references her picking up new tricks.

For me personally, I think the Chicago cube was the most enjoyable (had a nice rakdos sacrifice deck) but the control cube exceeded my expectations in terms of how much I thought I’d enjoy it (with 15 island plus fountain port plus mirrex plus mirrex vedalken shackles control deck)

Phyrexian Mana? Free Spells?
Changing how Hybrid mana works for deck construction opens a whole can of worms.
And also Hybrid cards in play still count for both colors. A Carnage Interpreter in your Mono Red deck still get's buffed by an opponents Bad Moon.
It just adds unnecessary confusion.
