Quite the planetary parade this morning. The sun is too bright to see it now but tomorrow morning before sunrise should have some cool views. Of course we’ll probably have clouds. 🙄 #PlanetaryParade

We appreciate not everybody will want to click an Instagram link and we're working on getting a copy of this video uploaded to Bluesky, but for those who are interested we wanted to flag this timelapse showing the #PlanetaryParade over the #RadcliffeCamera: www.instagram.com/p/DHDvUEwIOO...

Still a few minutes to catch Mercury before it sets for the night.
#PlanetaryParade
Earlier this evening was, as far as I recall, the first time I have ever knowingly laid eyes upon the planet Mercury

Under the stars and planets, the Bodleian Library has been beautifully captured (and painstakingly labelled for easy identification) by student and budding astronomer Shubham

If you're planning to stargaze in Oxford, save this post for future reference! #PlanetaryParade #RadcliffeCamera

While everyone has been taken up with the #PlanetaryParade, our members have been monitoring what's actually been happening on the planets. There've seen new storms and outbreaks on Jupiter, clouds and ice caps on Mars, phases of Venus and Mercury. Here are some of their images. 🔭 #astrophotography

Venus reflecting off Puget Sound at Golden Gardens. We missed Neptune, Saturn and Mercury, which were just under the horizon. Dinner ran late but it was still worth the drive. Mars and Jupiter were very bright and we saw Uranus last night. #planets #planetaryparade #Seattle #pnw

So I guess there’s a #PlanetaryParade tonight. Over the course of the night 7 planets will be visible. There’s too much light pollution around me to see most of them, but I do see 3.

I went outside after sunset to see if I could see the planets lined up. I don't have a telescope, so I won't be able to see them all. If I'm looking at it right, I think Venus is in the first picture, and Jupiter and Mars are in the second. Very neat to see!! 💫🪐😊

Got a beginner telescope 🔭 for Christmas ( #celestron 80az) and am slowly working out how to use it and take pictures.
Here are a few I took this evening of the #planetaryparade using my mobile phone attached to the scope. Its not very obvious😂 - so first Venus, Mars #astronomy
