#pass-the-hash
This is how I smell a jar of hash. If that bothers you don't pass me the jar. #hash #jar

Now I'm picturing Matthew in a conference room during an investor presentation, leaning in to Scarlett and whispering, "I don't understand why they're talking about preventing pass the hash."

Notice how only Conservatives want another election? Most other Canadians think this is a horribly bad idea. Just pass the budget and hash out the details later!

Cracking the Unbreakable: How DumpGuard Exposes Critical Flaws in Windows Credential Guard
Introduction: Windows Credential Guard has long been touted as a formidable barrier, designed to isolate and protect domain credentials from sophisticated theft techniques like Pass-the-Hash attacks. However, recent research from SpecterOps, culminating in the release of the "DumpGuard" tool, has demonstrated critical vulnerabilities, revealing that this defensive bastion can be bypassed in both privileged and unprivileged contexts. This breakthrough underscores a persistent threat landscape where even deprecated protocols like NTLMv1 remain a potent attack vector, as evidenced by the continued relevance of online cracking resources like ntlmv1.com.

"Don't use environments as ordinary data structures, but also environments are the only base data structures implemented with a hash table and get pass-by-reference semantics". Yup, checks the box.

#NHLJets PP ran this exact entry sequence half a dozen times last night. Pass acriss the blue line, carry the puck down to the hash marks and pass across the seam to the point forward (either Vilardi or Nino) and immediately back to the point D. This is a very effective set play IMO

I've released a new version of my blue_factory Ruby gem for hosting feedgen services (0.2.0) - first major update since summer 2023 😅 It adds support for feed interactions & post reasons, + changes the API a bit:

Not an LLM. I think they do a first-pass fingerprinting - some proprietary(?) method to generate a hash from images and compare that against all the evil shit (in hash form) in their database.

Sinsemilla, Thai sticks and hash were readily available in the 70s, but Colombian Gold was the seedy bomb! We thought Sinsemilla sounded cool, but found out it only meant no seeds. We could afford to pass Colombian Gold stogies around while sinsemilla was more like our version of roofies I guess. 🤣

8️⃣ Local admin reuse = lateral movement

Still using the same local admin password across systems?

Adversaries don’t need to dump creds, they just pass the hash to every other machine.

✅ Use LAPS, use gMSAs and stop sharing admin creds.

Wouldn't it have a lot more power and weight, if Kerberoasting, pass-the-hash gaps, BadSuccessor lingering primitives came from MS with an honest contextualization over the "problem mostly solved" narratives we get now&historically? Who has more weight to inform the public? MS or a rando researcher?
