🧵👇 I recall having several calls with Stephen Fluin a few years ago about @ModuleFederation in #Angular. We discussed an architecture where each Micro Frontend has the same Angular version. This is a straightforward solution, as from the framework's perspective, it's like lazy loading. 1/..

Don't sleep on #NativeFederation as an alternative to #ModuleFederation for #MicroFrontends. It's very cool to see a bundler-agnostic path to supporting this use case!
Achievement unlocked: The @angular team published my article on their blog. Our goal was to provide a calm overview of the benefits and drawbacks. After that, I explain why the Angular team is not officially supporting this approach and how selected community solutions can help.

I’ve been thinking about working on a new @egghead.io course about: Monolith (Next.js) -> Monorepo -> Microfrontends #moduleFederation, but now that they dropped support for Next.js I don’t think that it makes much sense to go that route.

What should I do instead? a Vite w/ React Monolith -> MFE?

Now that #moduleFederation dropped support for #nextjs, it feels like an opportunity to start exploring new things @ work / leisure time.

I'm really looking forward to work with something else like @tanstack.com #TanstackStart or #Remix.
