My brother is finally able to play Pacific Drive (was given a key for him—no MS purchase—which I very much appreciate) and I’m so excited for him to be able to see my work. have data masking and colocation, which IMO is the only reason to use GraphQL to build UIs. Everything else (the shit type system, idiotic restrictions left and right like not being able to have interfaces with no fields, the lack of sealed unions/interfaces, etc. is a price to put up with to get

I know there are events. But there's also a very long, curvy, and bumpy road between you juggling EventTargets and you working with a declarative UIs. EventTarget is an extremely low-level API. Great, just low-level.

I can see why so many games resort to using the controller to move a virtual mouse cursor. I tend to dislike those UIs. Instead, I have my own handle_input method that is called from the parent scene if the child should have focus. Only the top level scene is using _input itself. Seems to work well.
