#SemanticManipulation
Scientists harness knowledge, nature, AND chemical synthesis to improve health.

Chemophobia is breaking public health.

It’s the common thread linking all science rejection: fear around vaccines, food, medicine, agriculture, & cosmetics.

Chemophobia is Breaking Public Health
Fear of “chemicals” has become the universal engine of vaccine rejection, food myths, anti-GMO activism, and RFK Jr's assault on science

Really good as usual but let's please be careful to use both of these words carefully. *Both* propaganda and provocation are tools of the Fascist coalition and both are happening constantly.
This week, MAGA figures claimed Kristi Noem "stared down" violent antifa protesters in Portland. Turns out they were talking mostly about a guy in a chicken suit.

This episode opens a window into how MAGA propaganda works and MSM failure to handle it. 1/

Different forms of #SemanticManipulation
One reason people go wrong is that there are so many ways to do it.

Fascinating how "do your own research" just means "don't trust real research"

Nailed it.
The US will remain broken as long as politicians are more afraid of being called "socialist" than"fascist".

Attempted #SemanticManipulation from #Gaslighting playbook
WTF: Texas Gov. Abbott talking about football right now during a presser about the flash floods…saying that only losers ask questions like who’s to blame.

Redwood now wants to go back to the 2004 IOM report and play mechanisms games about neuroinflammation and autism.

Again ignoring that after the removal of thimerosal-containing vaccines from the US supply, the rates of autism continued to rise.

Similar to #SemanticManipulation with 'intelligent design' and theory of evolution
Looking to any theory other than RFK wants people to die is misleading and collaborative.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. apparently embraces the outdated "miasma theory" of disease instead of the widely accept "germ theory" of disease, which may help explain some of the actions he's been taking.

JD Vance now wants to use the chaos ICE is causing in Los Angeles as pretext to pressure politicians to pass the Republican budget bill that will saddle Americans with trillions of dollars of debt, skyrocket the deficit, take away people’s healthcare, and give massive tax breaks to the wealthy.

This @washingtonpost.com headline, framing, and reporting is maddening.

This is not a push to cut waste...it is a push to drastically cut health care, food assistance and housing assistance to pay for tax cuts.

The reporting is ahistorical and misleading. It's stunning. 🧵

The R propaganda apparatus holds sway. Ds et al need to figure out how to counter the immersion.

Instead of beurolinguistic
programming , I think a better (less loaded) term would be #SemanticManipulation

“Experts fear”? Experts know children will get measles and die without prevention, which is vaccination. Try this instad: “Children projected to die of measles because preventive medicine discouraged.” #vaccine #publichealth
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will direct federal health agencies to explore potential new treatments for measles as the U.S. faces its largest outbreak in 25 years. Experts fear the decision could have grave consequences, as studies show the existing vaccine is 97% effective in preventing infection.

I’m totally fine with being called a radical rogue professor. lol

But on a serious note, yes “activist” has been used to delegitimize people who are focused on equity, care and questioning systems.

I’ve dealt with the activist vs. journalist label my entire career.

It’s a control tactic.

ICE isn't "deporting" immigrants, it is kidnapping them.

DOGE isn't "fixing" the government, it is dismantling it.

Trump isn't "helping" Americans, he is retaliating against them.

Pam Bondi isn't "upholding" the Constitution, she is ignoring it.

The strongest move?

Guard language.

Control over words is control over minds.

Speak clearly, resist distortion.

Semantic manipulation is the deliberate distortion, redefinition, or repurposing of language to confuse, control, and steer public perception.

When you control words, you control reality.

Over the past days, we’ve explored 30 additional disinformation tactics, beyond the first 24 we previously covered.

Why?

Because disinfo evolves — and so should our ability to spot and fight it.

Here’s what we covered. 🧵 #FightDisinformation

The Idea that #antigenocide activity has been mislabeled by the new regime and amplified by the mainstream media as antisemitic...#SemanticError or intentionally #SemanticManipulation... the latter seems more plausible
