For additional context, our Android build is designed to fall back to a viewer mode on generic Android, which is what you’re seeing here. We would have loved to have an Android XR devkit but were ghosted after initial talks and being UK based can’t get one ourselves…

I used the 3 extra year security devkit from MassGrave.dev for Windows 10 and I'm gonna use the 3 year time to kick the can down the road and look at Linux options.

Mostly just for SteamOS to jump to personal computers.

I see people freaking out in the media over the Xbox dev kit price going up because of tariffs. "Indies will be dead!" Do you think indie devs were spending $1500 on a devkit? You get one for free via ID@Xbox if you sign up there, which most do.

How would devkit costs trickle down to consumers? Most devs have all the kits they need and ID@Xbox still hands them out to indies.

you'll need to manually overlay the scales on the sculpt's diffuse, normal and mask in a program like ph*toshop or ph*topea
so you'd need both the sculpt's and scale's devkit +

Luckily I can use my Series S in devmode for testing my small indie game but yeesh there go any pipe dreams of getting a devkit. It would take a miracle and a lobotomy for me to even consider spending 1k just so people can get Xbox achievements in my game.

• Box White is a dock equivalent for the devkit console to test USB peripherals (no PC connection)
• Box Red a companion box of Box White to provide PC connection
• You can see both in my Box Red post linked above
• Unless one needs to test dock/USB compatibility, NDK White & Red are unnecessary

I tried to pitch Popcorn Rocket to 3 publishers when I couldn't get the game working on my ps5 devkit and got rejected all 3 times.

When the game sold massively on xbox, I got like 10+ publisher offers and ignored them all because I learned to do it myself.
