What is your go-to CAS? Is it Mathematica, Maple, sage/cocalc, sympy, yacas, an increasingly tempting piece of paper?
I am making a graph in sage and it won’t show the rightmost gridline. How much time should I waste on this?

The good news is that the cocalc AI assistant (built on chatGPT mini, I think) is much worse at this than I am.

1) I prefer Pluto, but I mostly do workshops. There is a Plutoquiz or something package iirc haven't tried
2) for python I use cocalc self hosted (including improved nbgrader) but careful, support stopped a year ago or so. Not easy to find...

Not physics, so can't help with 3)

We're working with the Journal of Fluid Mechanics to make papers interactive.

You can now click a link in a research article and immediately start playing with the authors' Jupyter notebooks and data in CoCalc.

The AI Assistant in CoCalc is pretty amazing for academic work. You can prompt it to write out a full, rigorous mathematical proof in LaTeX, and it just does it.

In CoCalc, you can now AI-generate a proof for the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus (and more!) directly in your .tex file.

Prompt the AI -> Get a formatted proof -> Done.

I see gravity! I will have to peruse. Got sidetracked with another python assignment, probability polynomials for Boolean polynomials. Gonna go back to that and flesh out commentary in my example. You should try CoCalc, I think there's a free subscription, it uses python and SAGE computer algebra.

Some options, like CoCalc, let you use VS Code, and Lambda Labs, Hyperstack, and Runpod support remote runtimes.

But curious - what is actually working for you?
