UPDATE: Reached out to the Rev. Hannah Kardon, a United Methodist minister who was there that day and has been active in religious demonstrations at Broadview.

“They are making it clear that they are scared of prayer … it speaks the truth that what they are doing in that building is evil.”

One underappreciated aspect of the Sicilian mafia is how wildly hard it was for mafiosi to work together and trust each other, especially after the Corleonesi began their takeover bid. The relevant bits from my first book on trust (also the only bits non-specialists might want to read)

179th day of the year that the California ISO grid WindWaterSolar supply exceeds 100% of demand for part of the day.

CA is meeting 55.9% of all demand this year with WWS, vs 51.7% in 2024 and 47.1% in 2023. At this pace, CA will be 100% WWS 24/7/365 by 2035.

Wages of unionized workers are 13% higher than their nonunion counterparts.

But unions also set a higher pay standard that all workers enjoy.

In high-union-density states, median household income is $12,000 higher than in low-union-density states.

This is why unions are vital.

You can't call immigrants lazy moochers looking for government handouts and then round them up at Home Depots where you know they are looking for work.

You can't say immigrants don't follow the rules and then round them up in courthouses where they are following the rules.

Get your lies straight.

Ohhhh that makes sense. That’s why they keep going to elementary school graduations. Lots of murderers there.

It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence.

They are in charge.

The very definition of evil is incarcerating for life in one of the worst hellholes on Earth men who did everything right.

But it’s beyond evil—beyond demonic—to then not try to do anything to save the men you consigned to Hell, *and* to in fact libel and slander them daily when they cannot reply.

In the last 39 months, Customs and Border Protection seized 71,313 pounds of fentanyl. Of that amount:

- 69,373 lbs were seized near the Mexican border.
- 1,864 lbs were seized in an interior area (at a port or airport)
- 85 lbs were seized near the Canadian border.

Anyone debating or analyzing Kilmar Abrego Garcia's life or record is doing a grave disservice.

He could be El Chapo. He could be Charles Manson. He could be the Dalai Lama.

It doesn't matter. What has happened to him and others is clearly a violation of America's core laws and principles.

An experiment: in Queens, the public housing authority switched out a bunch of radiators for air-source heat pumps.

The results, two years later: 87% energy savings, bills cut in half, & cozy, comfortable, happy residents.

I boycotted the Bulls this year after several years of paying for games. Last night I turned on the Bulls/Heat game. First 6 possessions for the Heat: Layup, layup, layup(foul), Layup, Drive then kick out for a 3, layup. Every possession was a targeting one specific Bulls defender.

If Trump can disappear legal residents without due process, what’s to stop him from doing the same to U.S. citizens who oppose him?

Either everyone has due process — or no one does.

Even if you (wrongly) believe that some immigrants lack due process rights, what’s to stop the government from claiming that *you* are an undocumented immigrant; removing you to El Salvador; citing an “administrative error”; and refusing to do anything to bring you back?

The answer is due process.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.
