Are you using elixir-desktop or something else? On android I found that to be super messy, I'd love to see an alternative!

I dont remember if it can preserve comments, but I've found github.com/processone/f... to be the best at preserving the original structure, like sort order of keys, number formatting, string quoting style etc. But there were also a lot of issues there, so I think you'll have to fork one...
