Wow so you're telling me that AI is much less useful to people who have to do actual work that involves critical thinking and accuracy and so on and so forth and the people higher up who are increasingly just doing busy work (if any at all) are the ones enamored with it? Wow how about that wow.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

I don't know. It's like, among other factors, I lost interest in Stranger Things because of the time between seasons. A huge gap between installments doesn't spark anticipation in me, it's sparks indifference.

Worldbuilding thoughts on this fantastic version of North America and what to do with Florida.
Humid and swampy peninsula that sees frequent hurricanes, home to two rival states; one of mages and one of artificers.
Artificer state taking lots of inspiration from Walt's original vision of Epcot.

Indeed. The "Western Civilization" they like is Nero, Columbus, and Hitler at the apex of their power.

They hate all the rest of it, especially the art, philosophy, and democracy. Hence stuff like their confusion and outrage when the Olympic ceremonies included the Olympian God of Festivals.
It is odd to me that, like, you'd think it'd be parody if you said: to be clear, they only like the bad bits of Western Civilisation -- but that turns out to be true. They like the rapacious imperial murder, but not the art or intellectual achievements or civil liberties, etc.
i mean what are these "western values" these guys are so hopped up about? they are directly antagonistic to western europe. they don't believe in civil liberties. they reject democracy. and don't get me started on christianity, they hate their white neighbors almost as much as the brown ones

The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

If the AI slop age has anything that could be considered an upside (like maybe if you relax your eyes and look at it out of the corner of your vision) it's that it's providing a window to catch up on our collective backlogs of games, books, movies etc. from big name sources.

Why don't we like "AI?"

You try to put it into everything in nonsensical ways.
It doesn't work the way you claim it will.
You don't pay for the work you use to generate it.
Your intent is labor reduction without a contributory return.
You know it's unpopular so you try to hide it.
You lie about it.

Finally found out how to explain this.

AI language models create facts exactly the same way OCD creates intrusive thoughts, based on "vibes based" interpretations of half-known facts, and people use these as if they're real, in exactly the way I'm teaching myself *not* to do with OCD thoughts.

I finally beat Dark Souls not just by summoning but also by being cheap AF. Why bother parrrying Gwynn when you can just kite him around a pillar?
One is the annoying things with the difficulty discussion around Souls games is that they HAVE diegetic difficulty relief valves and the fandom pretends they're like an accident
Fromsoft players are like... damaged. Speaking as someone who loves the games, the community is insufferable in their attitude that the game has a "right" way to be played. (Probably born from the "Its so hard!" circle jerk early coverage/marketing of DS1 spawned)

in 1st century Judea, the corners of every field had to be left for the poor to pick crops for themselves, every seventh year *all* of the crops from fields and vineyards and orchards belonged to the poor, and all debts of all types were cancelled every 50th year.
