KC Current and WoSo, KC Development, but mostly bad jokes.
I’m not an economist, but there’s something incredibly chilling seeing Summit Pizza at 6:40 pm on a Sunday night (open until 9) without a single car in the parking lot.

What is a 2025 tariff? It’s buying the same box with half the food in it.

Up next is a chart showing the required or de facto percentage of annual league revenue that goes to player salaries. It’s basically half of all revenue in the major men’s sports. This is why the salary caps adjust annually in most leagues: they are paired with the annual league revenue.

I finally tracked down a pair of datasets and put them together. This is Deloitte’s 2025 valuation of the wealthiest clubs in Europe, and Forbes’s 2025 valuation of NWSL.

Kansas City Current’s estimated annual revenue is bigger than Barcelona & Chelsea combined.

Jess Fishlock's statistical performance in the last 365 days. 13 goals, 9 assists for club and country. She was playing at an NWSL Best XI-level after the summer break.

Remember there’s cash tagged on to these awards. Sharples deserves an extra $5,000. Get herself a new riding lawnmower or something.

Have you considered serving a tray of Zagnuts?

Wins over Uruguay, Australia, and Paraguay move the USMNT up to 14th in the FIFA World Rankings this morning. Mexico is 15th.

This is on the back end of one of the items in tomorrow's Consent Agenda. It has info on the project's alignment with the Area Plan and specific goals in the KCMO Comp Plan.

As with many citizen boards, a fundamental question is, "are the people elected/appointed people studying the findings?"

This is my calculation. My estimate is a 75 minute window beginning 15 minutes before end of match to 60 minutes after EOM. 2024 numbers are from a Traffic Study conducted by the team. Assumes only Teal Trolley operates as a shuttle, no KCATA service, and drop in rideshare.

Hell yes, if only for this quote.

Yo.

The crazy thing is that it really won’t take a lot. Raise the cap by a $1,000,000 and you’ll probably be competitive again. NWSL cap is going up $1.1m from 2025 to 2027, just move it up a year!

Average highs in February in Kansas City are in the 40s, but recent record minimums:
-12°F: 2/3/2011
-13°F: 2/16/2021
2°F: 2/24/2010

9.2” of snow: 2/21/2013

Need a robust cold weather policy before disaster happens.

I wonder if this is an alternative? Puts all Canadian teams together. Geographic compactness will be less of concern since it’s only 5 road games. Re: college conference realignments.
