I get paid about 1150 AUD a fortnight. Games have gone from costing $60-80 AUD to $90-120 (!!), just look at this screenshot for an example. All this in an industry environment where a lot of games release half-finished, and you have to gamble as to whether they launch well enough to 'earn' updates.

I do love how blatant some of the bootlegs get. My nanna used to buy gifts from a local market and my mum did ebay trading for a while back in the 2000s, so I got to see a lot of goofy bootlegs. (my favourite was a die cast steel beyblade around 2x the size of a normal one, coulda took off a finger)
