Our political issues are more the provincial and federal..prairie farms are vast and sometimes take in more territory then the municipal govs...family farming is nearly gone on the prairie...

Lol..I've also enjoyed that show...but Canadian farmers are on a different scale but many of the same issues..our issues are the price squeeze, climate changes etc...much the same

That's awesome...the NFU has been the real voice for farmers for many decades...but when you're only less than 1% of the pop you don't have clout...kudos to them!

Years ago like 30 maybe the Ab gov did support farmers then Ft.Mac became the biggest story and the o&g lobby stepped in and this is the result...I used to say to ppl you can eat oil ...but....

Yup I was never on the industry but we lived through many boom and bust cycles..they just don't get...meanwhile farmers were leaving in droves due to high fuel and fertilizer prices along with the uncertainty...disaster really...
