I will cherish this episode bc in watching with @sleepynbino.bsky.social he asked 'what do you think the threat will be' & I simplistically answered 'The Borg' he playfully scoffed only within the minute for the threat to be a spinning cube~🤭 even without that-

idk it's a very by the numbers Trek episode imo~while this hasn't been the first or last mind disease spread to the crew of the Enterprise(s) there isn't many more themes brought to the surface than in those~first Vulcan mind meld which is neat doe~!!

unfortunately an episode with very 'Roddenberry was probably was on the island' vibes, it's a shame too bc Kirk, Spock, & McCoy are all on their A-Game this episode & the disease that affects you as you age is a good metaphor for how different adolescence metamorphosizes-

unfortunately does not hit as much as I'd like it to anymore~Willis & Rickman are top of their game here but it's very conservative opinions towards law enforcement & intelligence are major detractors for me~enough to slip it to a not reccomend tbh...🤷♀️

like the first Rider flick it is pretty much an expanded episode with all Riders present for the action~fun time~fun stunts~just wish it was made later so they could have Riderman as part of the action too's~😋🤗

one of my absolute favs~!! Nick Adams & Akira Takarada have a chemistry just unheard of~especially for two dudes who didn't share the same primary language~!! the kaiju stuff while sparse makes when they do come out just *pop* in a way few do!

a solid ending that rightly focuses all it can on Ozymandias~😌 & delivers in performance & direction~animation is still rough for sure admittedly~but the touches added like Rorschach grabbing an 'Atlas-holding the world' weapon against Adrian is perfect~!

now this is where it's at~!! while '71 frequently squandered A LOT of it's potential V3 excels~with scenarios that really utilize superhero storytelling amazingly~due mostly to how many multi-part episodes are utilized in comparison to '71~they're able to have

now this a return to form~!! & one of the best so far~brings up some real Phillip K. Dick philosophizing over humanity & where it begins & ends in relation to androids (a subject Star Trek will delve into repeatedly in the future) so an-

the worst episode yet~& a thinly vieled attempt to sex up the show~really the kind of episode that leaves you with the same feeling as thoroughly enjoying the sense of wonder an article gave you~turn the page & be brought to the fact you are just reading a Playboy~😅

probs the weakest of the Honda/Tsuburaya team's efforts but the blend of Bondian action & Kaiju mayhem are pulled off better than when Fukuda would try to do the same & the interweaving of both plotlines are fun~!! but I feel Ghidorah soars-

much much better than the animation implies~while it is a very awkward CG animation the editing & acting elevates it nicely compared to the efforts of the Snyder flick~& the adaptation is written by JMS he mostly keeps it 1:1 but the occasional line changes-

I can't believe I've slept on this for soooo long~!! a sterling example of using it's setting to accentuate the character arcs~indulging in 50's nostalgia while showing all the ugliness of the era without holding back any~it also has insanely great very DCAU art

I would vibe with this episode soooo hard if it wasn't for it's unfortunate & demeaning depiction of SA & the implications it leaves for Kirk's character~it's such a shame bc the evil copy & transporter malfunction becomes such a staple plotline in the series-

now this is what I'm talking about~!! the dream team of Honda/Tsuburaya/& Sekizawa hit a stride here unmatched in any film franchise imo~!! (& that started with Mothra the year before even~!) just like Mothra this flick's got a whole deprecating-

now this is what I'm talking about~!!! my fav ep so far since it's about a virus that makes people 'drunk' off it you get a TON out of each main bridge crew member for the first time~especially Spock~the balance between emotions that'll contend with is really played-

an episode that deals with remarkably similar themes as 'Charlie X' but nails 'em much better due to Gary Mitchell being a lot closer to Kirk's equal~it makes for a very exciting~tense episode~& the first time Kirk has a good ol' scrap~😌

while Goji CA has some redeeming merits to it~the absolute drag of a third act keeps it from being anything toooo special in the overall series~while different directorial voices are vital to Godzilla's longevity it's hard in the 50's not to-
