I finished my final book for the month of October today & my 20th book from the library this year. Black Sheep was a nice horror read about a young girl returning to her hometown to find dark secrets waiting for her. If you enjoy supernatural hauntings & stories about cults, this book is for you

This week I’ve finished reading a total of 3 books from the library. One I want to share is Every Drop Is A Man’s Nightmare. This book blends Hawaiian culture & mythology to tell stories about the everyday lives & experiences of native Hawaiian women. If you’re looking something new, please read it

It’s taken a bit, but I have in fact come up one short for this month for books read from the library. While I’ve got to step up next month, I will share the library book I read this month & recommend everyone read this book if they can. I’m currently waiting for my personal copy in the mail 😄

Seeing ppl take this out of context,so here’s the part that directly follows the one below. As a fan of Butler’s work, she believed that there were answers to the problems we have. The issue is that ppl here have no imagination or hope & would rather complain & give up instead of putting in the work

Butler, in fact, DID give us an answer & we CAN solve these problems. The question is how many of us will be WILLING to put in the work instead of engaging in paralyzing fatalistic thinking that only leads to stagnation & not the change & solutions to the problems Butler outlined

This was a left over from June, but I finally finished this book from my library. As AI is being integrated into our lives we should work towards making sure that it doesn’t reinforce current biases and prejudices

I just finished Butter by Asako Yuzuki for my 2nd library book of this month,& it was a fantastic read.The centering of food to tell this story & give insights to the characters was brilliant. I also loved the exploration of the MC’s gender identity. If you like these themes, give this book a read

It’s late in the month,but I finally finished this excellent book from the library. Harari details the entire history of how human being have created information systems and technology throughout the ages. The chapters on AI were especially enlightening. If you love history & tech, read this book!

As part of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I want to spotlight one of the books I decided to read from the library this month. This graphic novel tells the story of George Takei & his family’s experience in the Japanese Concentration camps through his eyes. I highly recommend it

I finally finished two library books this month that were backlogs from Women’s History month back in March. Reading the thoughts of black women on feminism & what it means to build relationships has been so enlightening. I’m so glad I found them when I did.

Today I finished my 8th book from the library. This book was recommended to me by a colleague I worked with several months ago. It’s crazy messaging comes down to understanding the psychology of your audience & framing it in a way they can understand. In other words, good persuasion is marketing
