Just discovered: My great-uncle Duncan Blenkiron was a Lieutenant in the 18th Battalion of the Manchester Regiment that fought in WW1 at the Somme. On 29 Jan 1916 he was captured at Frise near Vaux in France and was a POW till October 2018.

My Great-Uncle Alfred Victor "Tony" Blenkiron was an ace pilot in WW1. But he also got into all sorts of trouble. At 23, after the war was over, he took his own life.
