I once applied for a job as a proofreader/copy editor. The advert was so badly written that I assumed it was a test and sent the advert, with annotated corrections, alongside my application.

It was not a test. They were very
upset.

I did not get that job.
what the fuck does that mean

Decision in the Sandie Peggie case.

She was not directly or indirectly discriminated against, her claim of victimisation fails entirely, her claim of harassment fails largely and her claim against Beth Upton fails entirely. www.judiciary.uk/judgments/sa...

Matthew Lillard is pretty close to the personification of the best advice for actors: Take the JOB seriously, but don't take yourself seriously.

QT, on the other hand, is a deeply horrible person.
I am embarrassed to have an opinion about what a director I’ve only seen I think 3 movies by said on a podcast but every time I’ve ever seen Matthew Lillard in a movie I’ve enjoyed it; giving props to work you like rules over being catty and rude, & people who think catty and rude is good are bores

My theory is that Deckard is a replicant, but he's been given the memories of the Blade Runner, Gaff (Olmos).

In the film, replicants are harder to detect if they have been given memories and don't know they're replicants (like Rachael), and it would explain why Gaff hates Deckard.

Watched Bladerunner again last night. Would have been so much better if they had gone with the original idea, that instead of origami unicorns, Edward James Olmos’ character had made balloon animals.

What TV moment should be the opposite of "Jump the Shark?'

Instead of the moment that signifies a TV show has gone bad, what example would you use to describe a moment that meant a TV show became unmissable?

Something like "Beheading the Ned"

I mostly know two kinds of people; those with smart homes, who use AI and have every IOT connected device known to humankind...

... and people that work in I.T/Tech who own a printer connected with an ethernet cable who keep hammer next to it in case it makes a noise they don't like.

This is important. CT arrears are a strong indicator of the potential to fall into poverty.
If money's tight, you stop paying CT way before you cut back on food, heating, etc.
It's hard to clear too. If you have a small windfall, you buy food. You don't chip away at your CT debt.
Council Tax arrears in England have risen every year since Council Tax Reduction was localised.

In the United States a scientist is blinded

By the resumption of nuclear testing and he is reminded

That Dr Robert Oppenheimer's optimism fell

At the first hurdle

@billybragg.bsky.social
President Trump’s announcement that he has ordered the U.S. to resume nuclear testing “immediately” has drawn confusion and alarm from some experts, who argue that physical testing is outdated and would add momentum to an arms race it aims to counter.
Trump push to restart nuclear tests could take years, cost millions, experts say
The Nevada Test Site — where the U.S. last tested a nuclear explosive more than 30 years ago — now relies on computer modeling, not physical explosions.

For my money, the best viewing order is IV, V, I, II, III, VI.

Now, if you'll excuse me, after hearing them referred to as the "original 6", I'm going to walk to the nearest museum and lie down with the other fossils.
People really need to watch the original 6 Star Wars films in number order, not release order. George Lucas has said this a million times and people just don't listen to him.

People who actually follow his advice get a much richer and more suspenseful story.

Ignore what every recipe says. You measure garlic with your heart.
I don't understand why it's taken me this long to realise that when a recipe says two cloves of garlic, it actually means eight.
