The first one is very unfinished for me. I shot with a model, but didn’t quite get what I needed, so the figure feels a little stiff to me. That’s on me for not giving better direction. It was supposed to part of the Astronomer series, but ended up as its own thing.

I laid his base down in oil and tidied him up with indigo pencil.
The paper is toned with a heavy wash of Payne’s gray and indigo blue watercolor. Once that dries, I can draw and paint on top of it.
