The first one is very unfinished for me. I shot with a model, but didn’t quite get what I needed, so the figure feels a little stiff to me. That’s on me for not giving better direction. It was supposed to part of the Astronomer series, but ended up as its own thing.

Thanks a ton, Scott. I’m a huge Parrish fan and this was definitely inspired by he and Winsor McCay.
It’s an old piece, but it’ll remain one of my favorites forever.

The seafoam moon just felt like the way to go here. It's got a vintage feel to it that I like.
I laid his base down in oil and tidied him up with indigo pencil.
The paper is toned with a heavy wash of Payne’s gray and indigo blue watercolor. Once that dries, I can draw and paint on top of it.
